Cease-Fire Drama Follows Trump to NATO Summit
As Donald Trump departed for the NATO Summit in The Hague this morning, he addressed the media with frustration over the fragile situation in the Middle East. Speaking bluntly, he confirmed the Trump Iran Israel cease-fire is technically back on, but made it clear neither side impressed him.
This is what I voted for pic.twitter.com/98fVyaI7wS. President Trump just laid the heaviest line I’ve ever seen on Iran and Israel.

Asked about the brief and badly bruised cease-fire between Iran and Israel, Trump confirmed it’s technically back on. But that didn’t stop him from torching both parties with a signature Trumpism:
“Iran and Israel broke the cease-fire. They don’t know what the f* they’re doing.”
Not exactly the measured diplomacy NATO leaders might have hoped for.
The Cease-Fire That Barely Existed
Just days ago, Trump announced a “complete and total cease-fire” between Israel and Iran after what he labeled the “12-day war.”
But the ink wasn’t even dry before missiles flew out of Tehran and Israeli airstrikes lit up the sky in response.
Now, Trump claims the cease-fire has been re-established—but he’s clearly not celebrating.
Instead, he’s heading into the NATO Summit with a warning: both countries better get it together—or else.
Trump Slams Iran and Israel Over Cease-Fire Breakdown

President Trump announced early Tuesday that the cease-fire between Iran and Israel was back on — just moments after raging that both “don’t know what the f–k they’re doing.”
Trump announced yet another breakthrough in negotiations just moments after his extraordinary comments blaming both nations for temporarily breaking the cease-fire just hours after it went into effect.
“ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly “Plane Wave” to Iran,” he wrote on Truth Social just before 7:30 a.m.
“Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect!” he said, with his now-trademark sign off: “Thank you for your attention to this matter! “
His Truth post came just moments after the president raged at both nations as he left Joint Base Andrews for a NATO summit.
“I think they both violated it,” Trump said of Israel’s promise to resume attacks after accusing Iran of a “blatant violation” by firing more missiles.
“We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f–k they’re doing, do you understand?” – New York Post
Why It Matters: The NATO Backdrop
This isn’t some backroom press moment. Trump made these remarks while en route to The Hague, Netherlands, for the first NATO Summit ever held on Dutch soil.
Location: World Forum, The Hague
Dates: June 24–25, 2025
Audience: Leaders from all 32 NATO members and global partner nations
Trump wanted to walk into The Hague as the man who brokered peace in the Middle East. Instead, he arrives like a parent dragging two misbehaving kids to the principal’s office.
“Don’t Make Me Come Back Over There”
While Trump insists the cease-fire is back on, the tone of his remarks suggests zero patience left.
He didn’t single out just one side. He torched both.
This wasn’t a peace pipe moment; it was a public wrist-slap and a signal that Trump sees both Iran and Israel as reckless actors who could jeopardize stability… and his image as a dealmaker.
Translation: Trump’s done playing referee—next time, someone’s getting benched.
Final Take
Trump isn’t wrong that both Iran and Israel acted like geopolitical toddlers. But if the cease-fire fails again, will he be able to spin it as someone else’s fault? Or will NATO leaders start asking: Does the “art of the deal” actually work when the deal dissolves before takeoff?
One thing’s for sure: Trump’s not just bringing foreign policy to the NATO Summit, he’s bringing drama.
