The Left Cries Fascism While Acting Like Fascists Themselves

Every time Rashida Tlaib or one of her Squad allies grabs a microphone, they shout the same tired accusation. This administration is fascist, they claim. The word gets tossed around so casually that it has lost meaning. But the truth is that the accusation is absurd. To see why, we need to look at what fascism actually was.

What Real Fascism Looked Like

Real fascism was Mussolini’s Italy and Hitler’s Germany. These regimes defined authoritarianism in the twentieth century. And it is absurd for the Left to pretend that Donald Trump is anything like those men.

This is fascism: One-party rule. Hitler banned rival parties. Mussolini destroyed political opposition.

Here in America, we have Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and even Socialists on the ballot. They argue with each other around the clock on television and online.

This is fascism: State-controlled media. Under Mussolini and Hitler, the press became a propaganda arm of the regime.

Here in America, the press criticizes the president every single day. Free media thrives, even if it is often biased.

This is fascism: Militarization of society. Fascist youth groups, secret police, and paramilitary squads patrolled the streets.

Here in America, kids join sports teams, debate clubs, or scroll social media. No jackboots required.

This is fascism: Corporatism. Industry survived only if it served the state. Mussolini forced private business to bend to government control.

Here in America, Elon Musk builds rockets, Jeff Bezos turned an online bookstore into a global empire, and your neighbor sells collectibles on eBay. No permission slips required. The only barrier is hard work and grit, not a dictator’s decree.

This is fascism: Suppression of rights. No free speech. No free religion. No due process. Dissenters faced prison or execution.

Here in America, you can sue the government, attend the church of your choice, and call political leaders idiots without fear of arrest.

That is fascism. And it looks nothing like today’s America.

The Real Authoritarians

If anyone is dragging this country closer to fascism, it is not the Right. It is the Left.

They push to shut down speech by labeling it “hate.” Remember the Biden administration’s plan for a “Disinformation Governance Board”? That was a government attempt to police what Americans can say. Or recall when Big Tech censored the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story right before the 2020 election. That was not free speech. That was censorship for politics.

They demand compliance at work. Parents who dared to challenge gender ideology at school board meetings were branded “domestic terrorists” by the Department of Justice. Employees at Google or Disney faced investigations or firings simply for holding conservative opinions. That is not democracy. That is enforcement.

They weaponize institutions. The FBI flagged social media posts for removal, working directly with platforms to silence Americans, often conservatives. They did this under the banner of fighting “misinformation.” That tactic comes right from the authoritarian playbook.

They cancel and blacklist. Gina Carano lost her role on The Mandalorian for her political views. Dave Chappelle had venues cancel his comedy shows because he joked about gender ideology. Dr. Scott Atlas was smeared and silenced during COVID for disagreeing with the approved narrative. That is cultural authoritarianism.

Why They Cry Fascism

So why do far Left extremists keep shouting that Trump is a fascist? Because the word is their nuclear insult. If they can brand the Right as dangerous and illegitimate, they can justify censorship, justify blacklists, and justify weaponizing government against political opponents.

It is not about truth. It is about control. They scream “fascism” to distract from the fact that they are the ones acting like authoritarians.

How to Shut Them Down

The next time Rashida Tlaib or any other far-left member of Congress screams “fascist,” here is how to respond.

First, remind them that fascism means total state control. America still has free markets, free press, and competitive elections.

Second, point out that it is the Left, not the Right, that demands censorship and punishment for dissent.

Third, throw their logic back at them. If Trump were truly a fascist, they would not even be allowed to scream the accusation from the House floor.

The Left Cries Fascism Because They Cannot Win on Facts

Fascism was not mean tweets. It was not immigration policy. It was not border enforcement or tax reform. Fascism was led by Mussolini and Hitler. It was a system that destroyed freedom, silenced citizens, and bled nations dry.

Watering down that history into a cheap insult is an insult to the truth. And the Left does it because they cannot win on facts.
